On August 28-30, 2023, Northeast Asia Cruise Industry International Cooperation Forum 2023 and the 11th China International Cruise Summit (Qingdao) successfully held in Qingdao, China. This summit was hosted by CCIWTCF, Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Service Authority of Qingdao International Cruise Port Zone, Qingdao Shibei District People's Government and Shandong Port Cruise Culture and Tourism Group Co., Ltd.
With the theme of "Accelerate the Full Cruise Resumption of China and Promote Win-Win Cooperation in Asia's Cruise Industry", the summit aims to help and promote the rapid recovery and high-quality development of cruise tourism. The summit invited about 300 people from relevant government authorities, industry associations, cruise lines, cruise cities/ports, travel agencies, cruise suppliers, related institutions to participate offline, and conducted a global online bilingual simultaneous live broadcast with Tencent, Dazhong and other platforms. The opening ceremony, signing ceremony, launching ceremony of Qingdao Initiatives for Cruise Industry International Cooperation in Northeast Asia, industry conferences and meetings, travel agency cruise business training, Qingdao cruise tourism B2B exchange meeting and other activities were held during this summit. The summit focused on the deployment and product innovation of China's cruise resumption, the opportunities and challenges after the restart of the Chinese cruise market, the promotion of the orderly cruise resumption in China, and the promotion of exchanges and cooperation between cruise ports and cities in Northeast Asia, which played a positive role in planning the future development of cruise tourism.
Dr. Zinan Liu, Global Vice President & Chairman of Asia, Royal Caribbean Cruises; Mr. Baochun Li, Deputy Secretary-General of World Tourism Cities Federation; Mr. Joel Katz, Managing Director, CLIA Australasia & Asia and other industry leaders shared their views for all audiences. High-level executives of cruise lines like Royal Caribbean Cruises, Adora Cruises, Blue Dream Cruises, Bohai Cruises, Tianjin Oriental Cruises, Peace Boat etc. spoke and interacted with industry colleagues. In addition, participants from Japan, Korea, Philippines, Russia and other countries and regions participated in this summit.
The high-level, international and professional characteristics of this summit have become an effective channel for Qingdao to gain insight into the trend of international cruises, grasp the vane of international cruise development, and understand the cutting-edge information of the development of the cruise industry, which is of great significance for strengthening the international pragmatic cooperation of the cruise industry in Northeast Asia. With the help of the international platform of the summit, Qingdao will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with global cruise cities, ports and cruise enterprises, promote the long-term and rapid development of Qingdao's cruise tourism economy, and at the same time, play a role in effectively promoting the integrated development of international cruise-related industries.
